It's all about the Jews/Israel

Some Christians believe that the Jews have been replaced by the Church and the modern state of Israel is of no importance. But the reaction from the world would tell a very different story. Let's take Israel, for example. Why is the whole world so focused and passionate about a tiny strip of land the size of New Jersey? Why is Israel so vilified? There's no other country that comes close to the kind of vitriol that Israel receives. I'm sure if you asked them, they would provide some answer. But it still wouldn't explain why they are so invested in a country that none of them have probably been to and have no connections with.

And why are people so laser-focused on the Jews? They are the most scrutinized people in history as well as the most hated. For the last couple thousand years, they have faced discrimination, persecution, genocide, and attempted genocide throughout the ages. Yet while other ethnic groups like the Hittites, Jebusites, Edomites, and all the other “ites” of biblical times have perished, the Jews have remained. Not only have they survived but thrived and managed to retain their unique cultural identity without having a homeland for nearly 2,000 years. Then they reestablish a nation and revive the previously dead Hebrew language, the only ones to have successfully done so. What are the astronomical odds of that? Mark Twain once opined about that exact curiosity in his essay, Concerning the Jews:

"If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of star dust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world's list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers. There can be no other logical explanation for the hatred, obsession, and focus on Jews and Israel except that it is spiritual in nature. I would suggest that Israel becoming a nation in 1948 is prophetically important and that God is not done with the Jews. The amount of opposition against them tells me that I am right.
